With the game sales in full swing and gamers getting their Zerg rush on, a nasty bug has appeared that will leave people fuming (not only their graphics cards). It seems that on the menu screen on the game, they are not framerated-limited. This means that even though nothing is changing on the menu, the graphics card is still working and updating the screen without needing to and working itself to a fiery grave. There is a fix however, you need to do the following: open up DocumentsStarCraft II Betavariables.txt" "DocumentsStarCraft IIvariables.txt. Then edit it with frameratecapglue=30 frameratecap=60. No word yet for an official patch from Blizzard, but this would be on the top of the to do list, if they want to avoid paying for peoples burnt out graphics cards.
This is the first 2D version of Worms since 2001 and maybe the best yet. The new game in the franchise has been beta tested and a release date announced as being the 26th of August. Worms Reloaded is based on Worms 2 Armageddon and looks like to be an extended edition. It will come out on the PC and Mac.
Activision have come out and said that the new game in the Call of Duty series will be on the DS from Nintendo. It is being developed by n-Space and will offer co-op as well other multiplayer options with the games story being a Black Ops operative around the cold war era. The game will ship along with the Xbox 360, PS3, Wii and PC version in November.
Has this game expanded too much to be properly made into a decent game?
In an amazing nod (or palm forehead), some council in the UK gave the go ahead to name a street after the Tomb Raider heroine and given the title of Lara Croft Way. The name was chosen after a whopping 89% of the public voted for it. It was done to help improve traffic flow in the area. I am surprised it was not named Rick Rolled or something.
Is this a worthwhile name change or something else should have been chosen?
It seems that the latest on this movie is much more grim than previously reported. Originally it was meant to be scaled back, but maybe the whole production of it will be done from scratch again. With a budget of $100 million dollars previously, New Line cinemas have rejected that amount of money for such a movie. It was originally reported that it was going to have lots of special effects, but the new direction may be more like District 9 style, so a massive change in direction and special effects usage with a much lower budget with no figure given.
Will this movie be a good game to big screen conversion or fail miserably?
So there you are, loaded up Modern Warfare 2, beating everyone in sight and people call you a cheat. Playing the PC version of the game and you may have been caught up on a false positive charge of cheating and getting VAC banned. Most of the time Valve is right up to date on who cheats, but this is a rare exception. Out comes Valve founder Gabe Newell who issued an official apology, reversed most bans so far which numbered around 12,000 players affected and is now giving each affected player a copy of Left 4 Dead 2 for the inconvenience.
The rumour mill is churning over the Grand Theft Auto series and the latest rumour is that the new game in the series will be set in Los Angeles, well Hollywood to be more precise. Rockstar are supposedly going to make an announcement soon about it, but maybe they are still getting over the controversy where one UK based newspaper came out and said that the new game would be based on Raoul Moat, the latest gunman in the UK. He shot his ex partner, her new boyfriend and caused a massive manhunt until his death. Without verifying it, this was published as a true story without checking with Rockstar who were upset and ordered a published apology and a significant damages claim. I guess we have to wait and see what Rockstar comes out with for a almost certain sequel to the series.
The day has almost come when the first game of the StarCraft 2 trilogy comes out and Blizzard are trying to help players buy their game and get playing with some additional help from them. They have now released a couple of videos with the first one giving an overview of the first chapter of the trilogy and the second one outlines features in Battle.net 2.0. It is one of those iconic movies back in the 80’s, but now Tron: Legacy is coming soon to the big screen almost two decades after the original.
